One of the best experiences of my life

There was always a really good communication structure in the organisation. In Moshi we had a local assistant who was always there for us in case of need and for every questions. My time in Tanzania was one of the best experiences in my life. I got a feeling for the real life in Africa and I enjoyed the time. I wished I could have stayed longer. Thank you very much to the Project Coordinator Peter Bundala and Youth In Action Against Poverty and HIV/AIDS Team.

This will be your new home

I've been in Moshi last year and I had the best time ever. I made great friends with the locals and other volunteers of this program and it motivated me to keep doing this kind of work. The faces of the children make it possible to do this work for a longer time. You won't even miss your own home, this will be your new home.

My amazing first travelling experience in Urambo

YAAPHA staffs and their programs are amazing and you will love working them, I worked outside Moshi but I enjoyed so much.
There some challenges like language barrier but not much because all the time the coordinator and other staffs are there helping you with any problem you have. The airport pick up was veru nice, Peter were there waiting for me late night and housing and food were very good. I reccommend YAAPHA as your organization to volunteer.

Amazing experience in 2015!

My name is Karen from Belgium , My success of going to Tanzania to volunteer was probably the best
thing I've ever done. I met a lot of lovely people. I still keep in touch with a lot of them.
During my stay I worked in the hospital (Urambo District Hospital) The circumstances are very hard and I
will probably remember some of the children for the rest of my life. But I learned a lot of my stay in the
hospital. It was amazing to meet local people and learn to know their culture. Tanzania is a wonderful
country and I still miss it every day. My program was very amazing and got support from YAAPHA's staff

Learning & Living in Tanzania

I’m Gregorio from Florence , New Jersey. I volunteered in 2014 with YAAPHA. While taking the Dala
dala to my volunteer placement at UJiji Primary School in Kigoma ,I was looking out the window to see
something that would summarize Tanzania in a nut-shell. I saw a man running to help a women and her
young child carry their bags/groceries. Every one in Tanzania was happy, smiling, and would go out of
their way to say hello. The atmosphere, the culture, is one that emphasizes togetherness, collective, and
sharing

My incredible experience in teaching at Urambo District in Tabora Region.

I took part in the Community Teaching Program for 6 weeks, over the months of February and March 2015 ,I can honestly say it was a life changing experience, and I whole-heatedly and without reservation
recommend it to anyone prepared to work hard and have an amazing time.
The project takes place in the town of Urambo on the West part of Tabora region .The community house is very central in its location, being very close to all of the school and places where volunteers work. I volunteered at a primary school known to locals as "Ukombozi primary school,I taught around 5 or 6 30 minute lessons everyday, teaching them basic english such as body parts, and family members.
Each class held around 70 children, which was very intimidating at first! However, in my first week, the community staff member trained me and guided me through how to best and most effectively teach, thus
by my second week I was ready and raring to go! It was very rewarding teaching at that school, and a lot of fun. The kids absolutely love the Volunteers, and always said "'Hello Annah!" whenever I passed them in the street after school and at weekends.

YAAPHA Tanzania - Culture and Crater

I’m Laura from Boulder , Colorado . Michigan State University . Our daughter (Caroline ) had a blast in Tanzania! She just returned home and has lots of adventures to share with our family. She has a sincere appreciation of the little things, like electricity, hot and cold running water and a toilet in our house. What an experience for 17 days...with
bucket showers, squatty potties and all the new and exciting foods she tried and enjoyed. She volunteered with YAAPHA since 11/01/2016 up to 27/01/2016, the culture program was very wonderful.
We love YAAPHA Tanzania from our Travel Consultant, DianaRose to all the exciting adventures that they will remember and enjoy for an entire lifetime. We would recommend YAAPHA Tanzania for all of your future trips, you will be so happy you chose this organization for your students.

Trip of a Lifetime

When I first decided to begin my travels abroad, I dove right in and chose to go to Tanzania, Africa.
Thanks to the endless support from the YAAPHA's staff , this trip was easily the most memorable period in my life. My work in a rural Pre school in Simanjiro felt valued by the local teachers and the children were thrilled and eager to learn everyday. I also met some lifelong friends, which always makes travel and volunteering an even more exciting experience.
Anybody looking for a once in a lifetime trip, check out YAAPHA.

My Life lime Experience with YAAPHA TANZANIA

I'm very proud to be part of YAAPHA team and program for the whole time I volunteered.

I loved to be part of of their teaching program at Pasua Primary school and also the most important program I have been part with is Supporting the People who are living with HIV/AIDS. But for YAAPHA they don't like to use words "HIV/AIDS" to these people they use "People living with Hope" which is the best regarding all people are equal despite our conditions.

I would recommend any body who is planning to volunteer abroad to choose YAAPHA because they are well organized and trustful.

My tears and memorable experience with YAAPHA

I volunteered with YAAPHA in 2016 and I stayed in Moshi for about 1 month teaching young people on Business management.

The target group was Youth who affected by drugs and were willing to stop and women at Kalimani street.

Also I joined in outreach program with YAAPHA staff team on house to house visit sharing information on HIV/AIDS .
Things I saw to the community it was a surprise and shocked me , I did not expect to see people suffering with extreme poverty , diseases and poor hygiene . This was a memorable experience ever .

I recommend people to visit YAAPHA and volunteer with them , they are amazing and well organized.

About accommodation and food were fantastic ,also they provide in town transport even for personal matters.

Thank you very much YAAPHA and Peter Bundala the project Coordinator for the good work.

Lasting Impressions

In January 2016, my wife and I started planning a year long trip around the world for our family of 7. It was a journey of a lifetime for all of us, with stops at many Wonders of the World. But now that we have returned home and reflected on our entire journey, the one highlight that everyone agreed upon was our time volunteering with YAAPHA. Our 9 year old loved teaching English with his older sister at Pasua Primary School and playing games with the students. Our three teenage daughters all had an opportunity to lead programs in their own classrooms. And personally, I was able to put my IT skills to great use by setting up a network of computers for the teachers and students. YAAPHA even coordinated for our family to go on a community outreach program to deliver food to local families in need. Several of my daughters still talk about the look of gratitude shared by families when we provided them with our small gift of food. After our time with YAAPHA, my family has definitely changed for the better. My daughters have talked about returning to Pasua to volunteer again and many of us have already discussed how we can continue sponsoring children. This program will last with my family forever.
