Great experience, the staff in the volunteer house do a great job, organizing trips and little celebrations and making sure you feel comfortable, the project with the dogs is lovely, even though you can feel how the managers there have too much to do to be always available to the volunteers.

This was an amazing experience! Our coordinator/host, Uma, and her family were very gracious and immersed us into their family and culture. We were served most of our meals at the host house. Everything was delicious. Uma arranged our excursions in and around Katmandu providing a driver and a guide. Uma also arranged and paid for our weekend trip to pohkara where we stayed in a nice hotel. Our weekend guide met us at the bus and we had a driver there as well. The one disappointing aspect was that we only got to work with children three of the days we were there. I think that was in part because we were there during their biggest festival.

I am from Jordan and I volunteered at an orphanage in Arusha Tanzania.
On my arrival,I have been welcomed by Local coordinator. The Coordinators were always available and in contact with us, they also arranged for us the transportation to the orphanage.
I volunteered at venerate orphanage, i have taught the kids english and maths, played with them and we also cooked for them.
The kids are sweet, smart , talented and full of life4s. Each kid has different story, different personality and for sure different future. I wish for them a successful and peaceful future.
In our free time, we played football with kids, we went to forest, to local restaurants and to the museum . Also, we visited Massai tribe and for sure went to Tanzanian Safari which is Inhabited by the "Big Five".
The safari trip was well organized; we had an amazing specialized guide, good services and even strong internet coverage in the middle of the parks!
People in Tanzania are nice, open minded and caring of each other.
This experience was amazing, touching and full of culture . I learnt alot from the kids.
Everything was well organized, highly recommended.

My daughter and I volunteered for 2-weeks at the Kwantu Wilderness Reserve outside of Port Elizabeth, South Africa. We were there during their winter.
AMAZING EXPERIENCE: Kwantu staff loved sharing what they do and got along with all the different personalities in our group; the work experiences were fun and made an impact on the needs of the reserve; the early morning and night drives were wonderful - and yes, we saw the Big 5; feeding the lions was a treat; our meals were wonderful and I appreciated when Mama Africa reminded all that we need to share to make sure all got food and not waste food; I appreciated the warm blanket that was provided as the dorm temperature dropped at night; the wood-burning stove was welcomed in the community meeting area attached to the dorm; a Kwantu guide (who also drove us on our work details and safaris) picked us up from the airport and we hung out (and met) other volunteers) at a lodge in town until we headed to the reserve. I appreciated that Kwantu provided travel to and from Port Elizabeth on the weekends, allowing time for excursions.
The Kwantu staff and the other volunteers we met made our time special. The Kwantu Wildlife Reserve is for all ages. Me, being the oldest (65 yrs old; with next oldest 34 yrs old) did not feel out of place around the typical college-age volunteer.
I highly recommend volunteering at the Kwantu Wildlife Reserve, and do it for at least two-weeks, otherwise you will miss out on some special activities.
Helpful hints: bring a pair of working gloves and a pair of shoes you can toss if needed (the road repair can get muddy if it rained); bring a microfiber towel and microfiber washcloth; and if going during their winter, bring a warm jacket, windbreaker, and sweats. You do not need to bring a water purification system, as they provide drinkable water. Pick up snacks in Port Elizabeth.

Review Translation in English - "Volunteering at the ADFP Foundation Zoo in Portugal for two weeks in August. This zoo houses some disabled animals and people in a relatively remote town, Miranda do Corvo... The ADFP Foundation provides a lot of employment opportunities for the handicapped, including programming, catering, library, hand-made sewing, woodworking, bee-collecting, , hotels,... and also accepts some Ukrainian refugees. The whole foundation is like a hodgepodge. Even the volunteer apartment where we live has people from different countries, Pakistanis, Africans... The zoo is a part of the foundation and houses many animals, including an alpaca that was used as a cosmetic experiment, two brown bears rescued from a circus, a three-legged fox with one leg missing, . . . There are 1 /2 employees are handicapped, so there are barrier-free facilities everywhere. The daily work includes: feeding, sweeping poop, defoliation in the park, cleaning, pruning, leaves, weeds, sorting out various animal cages, water basins, feed...the park It is very big, and the work is very complicated. In case there are pigs who give birth to piglets, they have to make a nest for them as soon as possible, trap the fox and put it in the quarantine area, help the alpaca trim the leaves to open the way... The staff in the park must often Mobile observation of the animal's health status and range of activities environment, count the number of animals, each animal has a number. Volunteers work from 8:00 to 16:00 every day, but even earlier, the staff had already tidied up a small cart full of various foods, including meat and herbivores, and some for wild wolves, mountain Cats, eagles...frozen rabbits, deer, sheep need to eat pasture, feed, pig food rotten water, corn feed..., the morning feeding is the morning light time of healing, all animals seem to be conditioned , Hearing the sound of the car, everyone ran out and ran, everyone was waiting for the food, and the calls of various animals were so lively... After feeding, they started to clean the environment all day. Volunteers helped some simple environment Cleaning up, sweeping stalls, gardening, weeding, birdcage cleaning, painting…. Nature is like a living textbook, we are all passers-by in this world  Changing our life mode, everything is very novel, just like this two weeks passed without knowing it. On the weekend before leaving, I attended a Sunday mass, and thanked God for his safe journey, and also thanked the ADFP Foundation for providing volunteer opportunities, which gave me many different experiences. an emotional and formative experience, the work done for the orphanages is impressive, the project is well organised even with opportunities aside from the volunteering. The accomodation for the volunteers is very good, meals are on average good and people are very kind and helpful. August is not the best period for the teaching programme because most kids are on holiday but despite this you can find some opportunity to teach. A negative aspect I faced during my journey was the presence of too many volunteers from the same country(in this case France) in the house( for two weeks all the boys except for me were french).
