It was a special experience, the dream of a lifetime. When I chose to go to Tanzania, I had this mindset: we can't help everyone, but each of us can help someone. It was an amazing experience that I will remember forever.

Loved the chance to learn about local culture through working with local people and the organized trips! Loved the food and the other volunteers I met. I would have liked to visit a few more markets but with a local guide so I would be less likely to be approached by every merchant.

This was an amazing trip and an eye opening experience for any aspiring medical professional. I did the medical volunteering program and was working in the Mount Meru Hospital in Arusha. I learnt so much from the surgeons, staff and other volunteers at the hospital and was able to get hands on experience assisting the surgeons in different procedures after observing. The Karibu foundation were very welcoming and helped us arrange everything smoothly. They showed us so much care, took us around to tour different parts of the country, gave us good food and they were overall a great group of people who are doing amazing things for their community. I will definitely return as it was an amazing experience my friends and I will never forget!

We are two doctors (graduated for more than a year) who took part to your volunteering medical program in Arusha, Tanzania.
We asked previously to one of your collaborator if the program would suit a doctor and she said that it would be a great opportunity, even better than for students, since we could be more useful.
In our opinion this experience doesn’t suit a doctor, we didn’t have the chance to do anything practical and we were considered as students, despite we changed hospitals and departments.
For these reasons we suggest to encourage only medical students to do this volunteering experience.
Moreover, there were too many volunteers (more than 30) attending the medical program in our hostel so the organisation of the activities was difficult too. In particular, also the hospital wasn’t probably prepared to host all these students/doctors and the local coordinator (Mark Matolo) wasn’t informed that we were doctors.
As a whole, the experience has been positive, but we would like to let you know this, in order to approach better to new volunteers in the future.

It was a great experience. The trips included in the programme were amazing and we enjoyed a lot, but in my opinion there is one thing to improve, according with the previous info it will be important to put some orphanage for taking care of the children.

Great experience, totally recommended, my host was really nice, and in the hospital I learnt a lot of thing, experienced new points of view and medicical stuff. Have done a lot of new friends, Thank you

Planning ahead of time could have been better configured a bit. Things that were promised were not confirmed. Would prefer earlier connection to partners on the ground to ensure smoother sailing. But I understand this was the first of this trip for us and there are some pain points

Except for one problem at the beginning of the experience (no one was waiting for me at the airport and I had a little trouble) I had no problems. Our host was super nice and super helpful. The only flaw was the type of volunteering, some children didn't speak English at all and the time we could do lessons was one hour maximum two, so it was very limiting.

Its really nice to travel and make that experience. Its recommended to everyone.

The people on site were fantastic. Customer support was very responsive. I down-graded my review because the packet of information we got was out of date - times were different, it didn't have all the necessary items to bring (like work gloves). Also, because we didn't actually do much volunteering - of the 5 days we were supposed to work, we only got to do 3 sessions of volunteering which was really disappointing. This may have been different if we were there longer, but we still signed up to volunteer, not be entertained. Finally, I down-graded the review because the individual room was ridiculously expensive for what we got. I'm most upset that my husband and I both had to pay for the individual room, even though we shared it. I can forgive the state of the room a little bit, but it was definitely not worth paying double the amount for what we got.

My experience working with girls my age in Delhi was simply unforgettable. I met so many wonderful locals who I'm still in contact with weeks after my trip ended, in addition to the wonderful other volunteers I met from all over the world. My job mostly consisted of using English to communicate with the students at the academy to improve their conversational skills; it was simply wonderful. They were so lovely and curious about me and where I come from :)
The accommodation was clean and proper (I did encounter a gecko and one roommate had bed bugs, but I guess that is inevitable to some extent). Thanks to Shankar for taking care of us and cooking delicious food :) I always felt safe in Delhi and as long as you follow the instructions given to you by Rajiv and use common sense, you shouldn't encounter any problems. I got to my workplace every day by auto rickshaw and it was so fun! We also had the option to explore the city by ourselves during the evening and dine out if we wished. My add-on trips to Agra and Jaipur were also very fun and memorable, but to me nothing beats becoming friends with the locals :) Also something future volunteers should keep in mind is that some other programmes have a Delhi city tour included, while I didn't have that.
All in all, I 100% recommend this programme and VolSol India in general. Before my trip I was so scared as a 17-year-old girl travelling alone, but everything went smoothly and as I said I felt safe all the time in India. I'm so happy that I took on this adventure and I miss India very very much; I'm sad I had to leave so soon! I felt right at home in Delhi. If you're doubting whether or not to come to Delhi to volunteer, I say go for it!! I'm happy I did and I don't regret it one bit :)
