Booking with Love Volunteers was relatively easy! They are very fast to respond once you start the application process, so you can get everything done within a few days. They are very responsive to any questions you have about your placement and make sure you know what you’re getting into.
My only frustration was that for some reason, I wasn’t able to read all of the reviews for some of the placements. There were some where I could see all of them, and there were some that only let me see a few, and I’m not sure what the rhyme or reason was. It made it a little harder for me to make my decision on a placement, so I would recommend they give access to all of the reviews for each placement.

The booking process was very easy and the communication from the programme very prompt and informative. However, I am only giving it 3 stars because the prices are given in US Dollars and Euros but the conversion rate is out of date, therefore, the cost is more than stated in Euros (the amount given in Euros was 156€ for the deposit but I ended up paying 171€). As the balance to pay is nearly 900€, this is going to add over 100€ to the final amount.

Thanks for your feedback, Emily. First of all, we are really happy to read that you had a great experience so far with the communication of the organization you chose to volunteer for.
We totally understand your point on currencies.
The conversion rates are currently quite volatile, especially the USD/EUR, and there might be transaction costs added by your bank, depending on the currency your account is held in.
Once you receive an offer via Volunteer World, the exchange rate is fixed. Otherwise, the deposit would change back and forth even at this step. This is to ensure that your program fees are not getting higher after you reserved your spot.
Besides, there is always an option to pay in the local currency of the project or the currency of your residence in order to avoid any currency conversion costs. You can easily change that in your settings or at the very bottom of any program page. :)
