I have mixed views on Utiliz. On the one hand I AM saving money and it is a convenient way to periodically research and sign up for the best plan.
On the negative - the charts and graphs presented are misleading; Utiliz should make sure the person s name on the Utiliz account matches the name on the utility bill or there are all sorts of headaches (simple husband - wife name issue); and the monthly fee structure is annoying. When Utiliz signs me up for an 8 month plan why I am I getting charge $3.99 a month for the next 8 months when they are literally doing nothing.

Not only does Utilize find me the best rate for electricity, they take the stress off of me. I used to try and keep track of the different rates and switch suppliers on my own...it was a lot of work and if you don't time it right, you end up paying 10 times more wiping out all of your savings. With Utilize, I don't have to worry about anything. They handle the research and switching for me and I feel comfortable they are getting me the best deal.

It took several months before Utiliz even attempted to switch me to a different power generator. They send me an email and showed me how much I was going to save over the six months of the new contract. After the first month I looked at my electric bill and saw that they never switched me and I had gone a month not realizing the savings (and this was the steepest savings I was to receive over the 6 month period). They refunded my $5 for the month where they didn't do anything for me, but didn't even offer a credit for the lost savings I could have appreciated had I made the switch myself. So far, I'm not impressed.
