I do like these strings, and on two of my acoustics they are perfect. For some of my others it would be nice if there was a version with a slightly thinner gage…say 047 or 048. I guess you folks had a balance in mind, but being of smaller hand size it gets difficult on some guitars to get my thumb over that string, and when I tried to build a custom set I didn’t see the lower gage as an option, so I still use Martin strings on those particular guitars. I was accustom to using D'addario Phosphor Bronze which sound very bright. The Stringjoy Naturals said they were Phosphor Bronze so I was expecting that same Bright sound. They do not sound bright at all to me but more what the name says - Natural. If I order again, I will need to order Brights - NOT Naturals. These strings are expensive in comparison so they need to be right. I do believe this is a good company if you can afford the price. One thing I do like is being able to select my own gauge strings as I play a lot in New Standard Tuning which requires specific gauges.

The strings sounded Great with a capital G right out of the box but the first set lost its luster quickly, more quickly than I care to admit. However, the third set, while visibly tarnished is retaining its punch more than the first set. I will probably try the coated strings to see if they last longer.

Play these strings for an hour and that’s it. Initially I was looking for instant gratification and it wasn’t there. Inwas nonplussed. And then it happened, my guitar began playing amazingly well, gliding across the fretboard like a hockey puck on a freshly Zambonied ice rink. The voice of my guitar just sang and sang and sang. Heartwarming to have your 20 plus years old workhorse (Larriveè) speaking to me this way. Good job.
