I've bought 3 sets the brass brights on a old Carlos that was given to me, did some refurb work and it sounds Grate with the brass lights!
Then bought a set of heavy bass 110-50 gauge on a 30$ garrage sale Yamaha 374 that was going to be a quick flip. After refinish and elect repair. It plays and sounds so good now I'm keeping it!
Then was the DIY melody maker kit I assembled and had a bridge location problem from the factoy. Got that sorted and restrung it with the heavy lite set....Wow ! It now sounds like it should. A single pu power house. !

The strings feel and sound really nice but I feel that the wound strings are a little too heavy. They are very similar gauge to my usual 10-46 sets (26, 36, 46). I recently tried a set of D’Addario Balanced tension and they were slightly better balanced with 10, 13.5, 17, 25, 34 and 46. I have just ordered a custom set of 9-42s and I’m looking forward to trying them out…
Having said all that, after 30+ years of playing I’ve only just come across the concept of balanced tension string sets and I can’t understand why there would ever be non-balanced tension strings..! The balanced sets feel so so so so much better to play and I’m stoked I have come across a company like Stringjoy that specialises in balanced tension and custom string sets. I will definitely recommend them to everyone...

Love the balancing on the first 3 strings, I have some chord-medody thing I'm playing and these strings really help it sound smoother as there is more consistency when the melody note move from string to string (which used to be quite noticeable).
In general, the strings are very high quality. I waited a long while before writing this review because I wanted to know how well they are holding up (as I'm used to playing coated/treated strings), and they seem to last for months for me (I use string conditioner sometimes, but even without it they last pretty decently). They are also holding tune very well, and I've yet to break a string so far (currently using them on two guitars for several months). Oh, and they arrived pretty quickly to my far corner of the world :)

The strings sound good. I was surprised how "thin" the .45 G string was. It feels and sounds more like a .40! I've been using GHS Bass Boomers for 30+ and pay $33 for 2-sets (Musicians Friend or Sweetwater). I will not make another Stringjoy purchase at your current $30/set price. Good Luck! BC
