I used these strings on an acoustic variax 700. I was pleased with the results as it tended to balance the guitar better. The wound g-string was especially beneficial, at least on this guitar. Lots of options with stringjoy and the knowledge to back up their product.

I’m still on my first set of 80/20s and I’ve been very impressed. Not only do these strings sound bright and clear, they’re surprisingly easy to play. I was concern about corrosion with uncoated strings, and even with the humid weather we’ve been having lately- no problem at all. I'm well pleased at how quickly these strings “settled in.” By that I mean that within a day or so those buzzy overtones that can be experienced with a set of new strings went away very quickly. The last test, life and how long they take to lose their bright sound, is still underway. After three weeks of steady use they still sound and feel good, and I haven’t felt that need or desire to change them yet. My next stop in my Stringjoy honeymoon, is to try their siblings, the Acoustic Phosphor Bronzes. Phosphor Bronzes are my normal favorite, but who knows, I may want to stick with the 80/20s. Lastly, did I mention that the folks at Stringjoy have been excellent with their assistance and prompt customer service. Proudly made in the USA too.

Overall, I like them. I’ve tried so many strings as I move to Jazz on my Telecaster. I’ll keep these for a while. My preference would be a wound G. They sound great and even in tone. A little noisy when playing low and clean. Looking forward to this gauge set in flat wound or half round.

I like them a lot on my Gretsch Nashville Classic - they feel good and sound good. The tag line that sold me was something like, “These are 12s that play like 11s and sound like 13s.” I don’t find that to be true; to me, they play like 12s. Next set I get will be 11s. And I’ll try other sets on my other guitars. Very glad to have found StringJoy.
