Robert and Joanie Ballard's shop is a Rappahannock treasure. Chock full of great work by local artisans and craftsmen from around the world. An attentive and helpful staff make it simple to find what you wanted - or didn't know you wanted. It is cozy and friendly and a great place to pass some time in our town. No high pressure. Don't miss it.

We stopped in while staying in Little Washington. The proprietors are friendly and knowledgeable without applying sales pressure -- a very comfortable interaction. There is a variety of eclectic but useful and attractive items that are both high quality and not overpriced. We bought a colorful area rug that fits this description and was a perfect enhancement to our casual, contemporary finished basement -- something we couldn't find online or in stores at the likes of Crate & Barrel. We also picked up a few more modest, useful, and unique gift items.

We purchased a lamp that was hand forged and taken from a piece of an iron gate. Unique and it works great in our Brooklyn apartment. The owners are terrific ... friendly, and knowledgable.

Turkish antique garden and farm tools, French jacquard linens and table mats, and unique painter's palate cheese servers were just a few of the items that caught my eye on our way out of town after staying at the Inn at Little Washington.
We really liked the downstairs art gallery that included hand thrown pottery and local artists' paintings and prints. This is a great place to shop for a present or just to update a wall or kitchen.
