Everything went smoothly with the customer representative Lillian that I was dealing with. The only complaint that I would have if any is that you can barely understand the automated voice when calling in to the main number. Otherwise I would definitely recommend them to everybody.

The experience with OpenRoad Lending was extremely frustrating. I called and emailed with no response to my application. However, I kept receiving auto generated emails and text messages asking me to call/email to complete my application. The staff kept trying to tell me I had to change my last name from my current legal name to my previous last name on my driver's license or the refinancing would not be approved. I provided a copy of my marriage license proving my name changed and still no progress was made. Follow up was non-existent. I would call and be told I would receive a follow up call addressing my concerns and it never happened. I called almost daily and the process drug out for nearly two weeks before someone finally understood I changed my last name AFTER I purchased the car and changing my name back on my driver's license was not required.

The whole process was easy and fast, but not quite what I was expecting. I was never able to talk to the representative that was handling my loan. The cover letter said the loan was for up to 72 months, and I could choose the length of the loan. It was never actually given the opportunity to reduce it to 60 months. The payment and interest rate were lowered, but it added another year to the life of my loan. I haven't done the math yet, but I don't believe I save any money in the long run. I was going to give OpenRoad a three star review, but I found out today that I now have a hard inquiry on my credit from Wells Fargo Dealer Services. They are not the ones who funded the loan, so now I am stuck with this credit hit. Things may have come out differently if I was able to talk to someone in person, but as it is right now I can't recommend them.
