It's going good, however I feel that there are important people missing in the text book and there needs to be a more indepth book list of titles that go along with the history periods being studied. I am currently slowing the curriculum down and adding in more books and activities and plan to only go through one history book this year and one next year ( I'm doing the new elementary history program).

I love Notgrass, am using 3 separate programs right now for 3 of my children, all different interests and learning styles and there is something for all of them in this, I plan to purchase more programs next year. It is biblical, hands on (for children that want it to be, but doesn't have to be), includes a lot of great literature choices which coincide with the era being discussed in each lesson, makes history interesting even for those that aren't usually history enthusiasts. Itās enough to cover topics and pique interest yet not to much where I donāt have the gumption to add things to it if I want to. Thereās no need for extra but you arenāt exhausted wth the curriculum if you want to expand on your own.

Itās pretty good but I wish it would include a little more of the truth and not sugar coat it. Columbus was a tyrant and he forced the indigenous people into slavery and murdered thousands of them. The ones he did convert to Christianity was forced and Iām concerned that other historical facts were sugars coated the same way. I will be checking more as we read further into his history lessons.

Brandy: Thank you for taking time to share your perspective. We do seek to be honest and fair when explaining good and bad aspects of history. We do address mistreatment of indigenous peoples in the Americas more in our high school courses, particularly Exploring World History.
