History is a subject that all of my kids study every single year. Knowledge of the past helps us understand the world in which we live. I was becoming increasingly burdened as my children grew older, because I had been using a history curriculum that was very good, but required an extensive amount of preparation on my part. It wasn't that I didn't want to prepare the lessons, but I physically did not have the time to prepare adequately. A friend told me about Notgrass, and upon examining the curriculum, I saw that it was quality material, Christ-centered (a must for HIS Story!), and reasonable in terms of preparation on my part. I decided to try Exploring World History for a year with my high school daughter. It has been wonderful! She finds the daily lessons very engaging, and she has been able to be very independent in her study. When we discuss her lessons at the end of the week, I am pleased with what she has learned and understood. Halfway through the year, I purchased From Adam to Us for my middle school daughter and son. It has also been a blessing, because the material is organized and easy to teach. I know I can be flexible with the curriculum, personalizing it to the way they learn best, and adding in our living books as desired. To sum it up, history had always been my favorite subject to teach, but had become a burden as I was overwhelmed with extensive preparation. Thanks to this curriculum, I feel like my kids are learning and being challenged, and I am once again able to enjoy teaching! :)

I am homeschooling our 5 kids (ages 4-9). I was on the hunt for a history program that would be good for all my kids at the same time, because who are we kidding- I don't want to have to teach history individually! I also wanted to start with American history (t seems like a lot of history programs start with ancient history). Notgrass has been wonderful! The older kids love listening to the reading while working on their workbook and the youngers will play while I read. Even though they are to young to participate in the work book, I know they are hearing the information! We are excited to travel and see some of the areas we are reading about! In fact, we were at the American History Museum in Washington DC yesterday and we were able to pull some of the info we've learned from the history program to understand the exhibits better! I absolutely love Notgrass! I purchased America the Beautiful set with literature, plus extra workbooks for a second child. I love the beautifully illustrated books. The photographs are outstanding. I love the combined literature books as well. They really help bring perspective to what is happening during that particular time period. The books are easy to follow, and the activities are very doable for multiple age groups at one time. We will definitely be buying again.

Notgrass History has made a HUGE difference I. Our homeschool. High School history doesn’t have to be painful and Notgrass makes it fun to learn history! My students love that they can pick and choose the projects that they feel most comfortable with and they love the variety of reading topics!! This has been by far the most affordable and easily adaptable curriculum I’ve purchased in my 12 years of homeschooling!
