Jaikoz, although I don't know how to pronounce its name, is an incredibly handy tool. I had thousands of song files to identify, and it did a pretty good job. The ability to sort songs in it, edit out white space in the data, swap two pieces of data (Title and Album columns, for example), rename the files based on metadata, and other manual and quasi-automatic features are fantastic. No one piece of software has been able to identify every song, but Jaikoz (whatever that means) is the main tool in my tool box. :-)

Thankyou for your review John, as you alluded to 'Jaikoz' means nothing at all, its just a totally made up word that I liked the sound of but it is spelt wrong according to English conventions since I pronounce it as 'Jaykoz'

When tracks are pulled into the software they rarely show up in the correct order and usually Track 01 is shown still as Track 01 but second on the list.
Also I'll be damned if I can get it to work on my work laptop - keeps saying I've got no licence. It's as clear as mud which file you copy and into which folder you put it on a second PC. It would be great if I could tag some tracks in my lunchtime at work.
Occasional problems with album art not showing despite the folder.jpg file being under the maximum limit set. Once is doesn't show there is no way to fix it apart from a complete scan of your library by the app used to play the music.
Apart from that it's a great piece of software and recommended.

An outstanding and highly useful application. Jaikoz is the only such utility that I have found that can most correctly identify metadata tags for single files that are not residing in album directories. My only desire is that it could access more online databases for identification.

Jaikoz is an excellent editor, for me the match excellent flac support and match to one album feature are the most of the time musicbrainz works, DiscCogs seems to know a bit of classical that music brainz doesn't. Being able to define the file and folder based on meta data is also critical for organizing my collection and is easy and stable. Saves hours of time and makes my music collection manageable.

Amazing program. Only issue I have is not being able to tag from Discogs when the release has only recently been added. It seems to constantly be looking at a slightly old version of the database or something

Yes we use our own copy of the Discogs database that is optimized for tagging and provides protection from any changes/downtime on the Discogs site itself, but it does mean there is a short delay getting the latest releases.

Tatsuro, I guess you mean MP4s containing both video and audio ?
We do already support audio only MP4s but Jaikoz is not a video tagger and when an mp4 contains both streams then some of the metdata fields usually used for audio then become fields required for recording video information so not such a good fit for Jaikoz, sorry.
