Jaikoz
It is helping and improving my collection which, over time, has gotten fragmented and burdened with too many duplicates. Could you create a standalone, background running duplicate deleting tool? Let it run all night or on a schedule in a directory and go artist by artist. Thanks for helping my mess immensely.

Thanks Peter. I have a solution for you, SongKong can be run standalone from the command line and does song fixing and duplicate deletion, no limits on how many folders can be processed.

Jaikoz
Jaikoz is an excellent tool for reviewing, updating and editing metadata for stored tracks. It has many sophisticated features but even at a basic level the tools are comprehensive and flexible.enabling you to edit your data in he way that suits you. The lookup databases are good but as with all databases have inconsistency and completeness issues. Hopefully this will improve over time. The track identifier means that once you have loaded the track for the first time, it reloads much more quickly and together the recent updates have significantly enhanced the speed of use which is great. As with all sophisticated tools it takes time to learn to use and whilst Jaikoz has provided a comprehensive set of instructions, I cannot always find a detailed enough answer about how a specific function works. So you do find yourself experimenting and sometimes the tools do not act in a way you might expect. In addition many file formats use proprietary meta data meaning that unless you stick to Flac you cannot guarantee the editing will work. Overall it's an excellent tool and well worth the purchase fee but be prepared to be patient if you really want your tracks to have top notch metadata!

HI Kevin, thankyou for your generous review. Regarding Flac format because the metadata for Flac is simply a set of name/value pairs it is relatively easy for other applications to support Flac better than some other formats. But Jaikoz does not use proprietary metadata formats, we are passionate about following standards and in fact we publish our metadata reading and writing library jaudiotagger https://bitbucket.org/ijabz/jaudiotagger as an opensource project, this is used by a large number of applications.

Jaikoz has been my best application to date and i dont think any other will ever replace it any time soon. I use it all the time. I love the option to manually match using cat no or barcode when the program just cant locate the album and i can. I think this application does not receive the recognition it deserves.

However, i dont think the Select all option works as intended. Whenever i want to embed an album artwork for example, i would sellect all the files but only one track that was currently highlighted before the select all would have the art work.

Another little annoying thing is when tagging "single" albums. If the single album have the same name with that of its full album counterpart, Jaikoz does not specify on its album name for example, Libra(single). This results with full album marging tracks with the single album, visible when you use media stream servers like Plex.

Is it possible to add gracenote? or erm..make Nas packages.

Hi Rakim, to paste artwork you should just select the artwork fields rather than Select All. Jaikoz already has an option to add Single) to the album name, just enabled Preferences:Remote Correct:Format:Add Single and EP releases to release title.

Very good software to add or correct the tag on FLAC files, and I suppose all other formats of music.
Very reliable too, never seen a bug during execution.

It works great! It was mainly for importing ISRC codes.

I use extensively Jaikoz because I want my music tidy with files names reflecting the mp3 tags embedded. This is working very well for that and made my life much easier. This is also extemely useful to batch edit mp3 tags.

It is a great help to have Jaikoz. It reduces the time and the work to fix your music, and it becomes more helpful when you have large amounts of files you must correct and organize.

I used the software to cleanup my music library which had suffered a lot of changes through other management tools and had left it with duplicate tracks, poor naming and folder structures. I used Jaikoz to realign the music library with correct meta data, then formatted the track filenames, folder structure and embed album art at max 500x500 to work with Sonos and my car infotainment. I then set about removing duplicates. I did this on a music collection of 6.5 thousand files and at the end I had removed over 1500 duplicates and restructured my music library. All this took a few hours on so many files, however it was very easy to use and make the settings changes. I have only knocked off 1 star as I think it is quite expensive bit of software, although it has worked very well on my music collection in a relatively short space of time. I now use Jaikoz to match up anymore of my growing music collection.

Thanks for the great review Shane, regarding price Jaikoz does give free updates for life so there are no additional upgrade costs, we have many customers who purchased Jaikoz ten years ago that still get free updates,

Felt as though it could have determined data for more files than it did. From what i could tell, Did not provide options for refiling tracks by genre. Alltracks auto file under the artist name alphabetically. Could organize within program fine, but saved files outside program were by artist only.

Thankyou for your review Peter, Jaikoz can update genres but it is not enabled by default since genres are rather subjective, please take a look at Preferences:Remote Correct:Discogs

This is a fantastic tool if you want to update MP3 tags en masse. Works great. The only drawback is its reliance on Musicbrainz, which can be mistaken with its information (no fault of the application. Highly recommended if you want to do mass tagging. I also use its sister app, Jaikoz when tagging individual albums. Also highly recommended.

Thanks for your generous review James. You are right that SongKongs primary sources is MusicBrainz (fast becoming the defacto standard music metadata database) , one advantage this database does have is where it is occasionally wrong you can logon and modify it, all changes go through a peer review system. But SongKong doesn't only rely only MusicBrainz it also uses the Discogs database and the Acoustid database to get great coverage, both Discogs and Acoustid databases have many songs that are not yet within MusicBrainz.
