Matt was excellent and provided great options, even when I changed my mind as we went through these. Only issue was a QANTAS glitch which meant that AA flights which appeared available to us were not available when it came to ordering.
Perhaps FFS could, in future, offer that next step of booking the flights, or at least ensuring that QANTAS would honour them.

Firstly, thanks to Lance who was very responsive and helpful.
I did find that a couple of the business class seats found were not "available to book as a classic award" according to the Qantas agent. This was after I'd called the Qantas booking number within a couple of minutes of receiving advice that the seats were available. As a result, I did not proceed with travel as business class availability on a long flight was important due to health issues. I am planning a trip with the family in winter, but am a bit wary of the same thing happening again. It would be nice to consider a discount for a customer that did not book because there was no availability, but wants to use the service again. In my example, I will be $1000 worse off if the same thing happens again, as I am looking to book for a family of 4 this time.
