These laying boxes solved the broken egg’s issues and chicken’s wanting to eat eggs. Plus the ease of collecting eggs is the best.
I do recommend some sort of padding where the eggs roll to. We just cut foam pipe insulation on half and rolled that along the edge. Issue solved with very little cost.

The installation guide was good enough to complete the build within 30 minutes. I created the opening in the coop to receive the unit. I installed screws from the inside and into the supporting studs. The hens adapted to it IMMEDIATELY. The eggs began to roll and they haven't stopped coming. Clean eggs! I do not raise the roosting bar at night and the hens do not roost in the box at night. My prayers have been answered.. THANKS TO BEST NEST BOX...

I like the design and functionality of the nest box. No more dirty or broken eggs.
I had 40 hens and they were used to open face cartons for nest. So, I had to train them and let them know this was now their nest box. They didn’t want to go in the box.
I opened the center curtain, didn’t help. I removed the curtain, still nothing. I put a couple hens inside the box, still no luck. Finally, I put wood shavings inside and they started using them. To my surprise, the eggs still managed to roll into the tray. I didn’t replace the wood shavings as they slowly disappeared.
The hens are now using the nest box and I don’t have to wash the eggs.

Assembly was pretty straightforward. I did most of it myself, but did need an extra set of hands to get the bolts+nuts in place for securing the lid for the roll-away cover. Mind the instructions about placing the overlapping panels inside or outside, and bolt locations if you don't want to go back and do the work again! Within two days of me adding it to the coop, all 9 of my hens are using it to lay their eggs. No more nasty, muddy eggs, and no more chickens eating their eggs. I'm a big fan.

My general experience with the company was great, and the quality of the product is great. My chickens did not want to use it for several weeks. Only one was laying in it. Then I read the FAQ and pinned the curtains back with magnets. That led to the rooster going in. Finally, after about a month, there were 5 eggs in there yesterday. I hoped it would just take time for them to get used to it.

Pieces came in good shape and everything came together very easily. My only feedback and current challenge is determining the best way to mount it. I wasn’t sure if it hung on the outside, inside, how big a hole to cut, recommended height of box. Even YouTube didn’t give me that info. I would have liked a little bit more guidance as to mounting recommendations and hole size to cut. Especially when I built my coop from scratch. I would have build it to accommodate the box if I knew more. Websites are handy for relaying that info. I assume the girls will like it and so will we when we start collecting eggs. More to come as the girls are only 8 weeks old

We don't give specific dimensions for hole cut-out sizes because every situation can be different. We always recommend having the nest box on hand before cutting a hole for a rear rollout. Here is the general dimension info we tell folks-
Please find below the dimensions for our nest boxes and rough dimensions for the opening size for rear rollout configuration.
Please note that we always recommend having the nest box on hand to finalize your design. Sometimes things on "paper" just aren't the same as your real world situation. This is particularly true for the rear roll out through-the-wall configuration because the thickness of the wall will influence the height of the opening.
Large nest box, assembled dimensions - 48 5/16” length, 19.75" height at the highest point of the roof*, 21” depth
Medium nest box, assembled dimensions - 24 5/16” length, 19.75” height at the highest point of the roof*, 21” depth
Medium extended nest box, assembled dimensions - 35-7/8” length, 19-3/4" height at the highest point of the roof*, 21” depth
Small nest box, assembled dimensions - 17-5/16” length, 19-3/4" tall height at the highest point of the roof*, 21” depth
*Note that the mounting bracket (one at each end of the nest box) extends above the highest point of the roof.
Rough estimates for the opening for rear rollout configuration-
Length - slightly larger than actual length of nest box
Height - varies depending on the thickness of the wall. For example,
1" thick wall - roughly 6-1/2 to 7 inches tall
4" thick wall - roughly 11-1/2 to 12 inches tall

We have a bunch of new laying hens, some of them are laying poorly formed eggs. Yet, these weak eggs (shell-less or cracked sided shell) slide down with the rest of the eggs and have not spoiled the rest of the bunch, as usually would happen back when we used milk crates for nesting. I suppose the slope is just right for the rolling speed. Also, after a rain, with mucky feet, our eggs are still perfectly clean in the roll out tray. I'm so glad I made this investment. After years of egg farming. I wish I would have done this sooner.

Happy with this product but the medium one is not really for 25 chickens only 2 can lay at a time. I also ordered the large size to have more room. I do appreciate clean, unbroken eggs even though it took a bit for my hens to lay in the new box.
