It goes on very smooth, but she seemed to lick it right off. Maybe you can make some that taste really bad? lol I have used it a few times and will continue to use. The ease of the stick is wonderful and I can't wait to see some good results!

I recently ordered Baely’s paw shield rescue stick for my Golden Retriever. Have only used it twice, but starting to see a difference on the pads of his paws, & love that it’s applied in a stick with no mess. Product came in a timely manner, with a friendly personal touch. We bought both the Paw Shield and the Nose & Callus Balm and we love both. We live in Colorado where it is super dry. So the nose balm is wonderful in keeping our older dog's nose from drying out. And we also used it on our new rescue who had horrible sores and calluses on her front elbows. The calluses are not fully resolved, but we've only had her a month and they are so much better now. They are not red and irritated. They may never disappear, but at least this will keep them supple and non-irritated. And the Paw Shield is really making the paw pads so much more supple too, less dry and scratchy. I also like that it makes the paws a little less slippery for our wood floors. And finally, the company is wonderful to deal with. They really care about their customers!

I love this product so much! I use it on both of my dogs who walk with me 2 miles a day. Their paws get so rough and dry from the walking but this stuff is amazing! Their paws are soft after just 1 use.

We purchased both the paw shield and the nose shield. It took us a little bit of time to be able to fully utilize both of them. Our boxers loved it! With a once or twice a day application, their noses are so much better and softer. We were able to use the paw shield after their most recent bath. After their nails were dremeled, I massaged the paw shield into each pad. They loved the massaged and both fell asleep. Their pads were still soft the next evening! The massaging also helps with the desensitizing so that they are more receptive to working with their nails. Thanks very much Baely's!

I had read a review for Baely's Paw Shield last week that said this was the best "stuff" ever (paraphrasing) and that their dogs paws became soft overnight after one application. I thought, yeah, right! ...but it was enough to make me try it.

So far so good, Maggie's paws are really rough she walks at least 5 miles a day and is a very large dog at 93 lbs! It has softened up her pads and keeps them that way. I thought it would be like hand lotion once you put it on it absorbs like you never did it, but it's not that way!
