Great event, and route... crowd motivation and music was brilliant...
Only thoughts are the park area in last km of the marathon was full of spectators on the path who didn't know it was the route and got in the way, very difficult to get around when you are exhausted.
Best after race shirt I have seen in 20 years!

Great support on route and the course was good. Only major drawback was on the second lap getting mixed up with the 10k and half-marathon runners meant you had to dodge through crowds the whole lap. Another minor issue was that the goody bag wasn't very good.

The start of the 10k race was not wide enough and meant people were significantly slowed down because they couldn't get round. The warm up over ran so many runners didn't get to the start line for the start of the race which meant they were not in the right position for their ability. However, overall the route was better going that way round - the reverse of the previous 2 years.

The last time I went training for my 10k race, I thought this is it, after my ABP 10k race I will stop running.
But I had such an amazing time and it was such a thrill to complete the race that I have already started planning for the next years half marathon. I enjoyed every minute of it and the atmosphere that you all created was just fantastic.

Only improvement I think that could be made would be when runners are collecting medal/t-shirt etc. Think it would flow better if everything was in one bag which you would collect from the correct t-shirt size stand. Instead of lining up for each individual item, it would all be in the bag.

Start was poor. No warm up. No corrals. Just a sudden glaxon.
Other negative was catching up with the slowest marathon runners, meant congestion on Itchen Bridge where it was hard to pass people.
Sport drinks in 1 place would have been nice. But nice Tee and medal.

The course was good and the marshalls great. Need to review the marathon and 10k start times as the two clashed leading to fast marathon runners having to weave past 10k runners. Also a little more care when sending race packs as myself, my Dad and a friend all received the wrong ones. Still a great day with great atmosphere and I plan to do the marathon next year.

Great set up and fantastic organisation. Superb race village. Lovely medal at the end and a fab running t-shirt too. Only issue is that the marathon was 2 laps of the half course but that's probably due to the he size of the city rather than anything else!
