Absolutely incredible atmosphere around the entire course! Crowds were amazing supporting every step of the way! Hard work but can honestly say I loved it. Really well organised event. My first half marathon and I would definitely do it again.

Really enjoyed the race - everyone cheering us on was really supportive - was great to receive tshirt, medal, banana and water at the end of the race. was very happy that we could type in our race number in order to easily bring up our photos shortly after the race. would do it again!

The 10k was a much better route than in 2016, much more varied, more in the city centre, and this made for a really good atmosphere. Well organised, many thanks.

Excellent event. Really exciting race village, lots of things to look at and see, felt like there was lots to see and made me want to walk around and see it all. Lots of parking nearby. Tonnes of portaloos which was awesome and really raises the bar on other events.

Loads of places to choose from to grab a coffee before the run. Exciting to cheer the marathon off before my half.

The half route was absolutely awesome. It takes in such a variety of of features -from residential to parkland to more industrial, it really felt like you took in so much of the city.

The pacers being set back from the start line so you had a chance to find your pacer and join them -the flags at the side were a great idea. As often when the pacers start on the line you never get to them. The first km wasn't too congested considering the numbers and my pacer did well weaving through those who had started perhaps too far forward for their pace. But again the roads could take the numbers so we could weave not a prob.

The support along the way was incredible probably better even then the inaugural abp half which I thought was unbeatable. My favourite area to run through for support was probably bitterne triangle on the way out towards Northam. The band and the numbers and the noise gave me goosebumps to run through -only matched by the finish line at the Brighton marathon for me.

I loved the elevation profile of the route, it made things very interesting and you had to be quite tactical with your pace, I loved the downhill from the uni to the park, and it was fun in training nailing that bit of the course -I long run most Sundays in Southampton so it was cool to learn some new roads to run down.

The marshalls were superb and there seemed to be loads of them, spaced quite closely which really made you feel like you were at a major event. The signage was good along the way -in terms of mile marks. The only place I think we could improve here is a more prominent 800m to go 700m to go etc all the way to the line.

The only other suggestions I have to improve on what was a fantastic event -the stadium had absolutely no atmosphere which made it slightly anti climatic now I've done it on each of the abp events -is there no way the sound system in there could be banging on some tunes -or a band inside etc

The distance between the water station in the park and the next one after the bridge on such a hot day I felt was too far. And the only other possible improvement is trying to iron out the timings as with 2km to go we slammed into the back of slower runners running one of the other events and weaving when tires so close to achieving your time was hard work! My sorintvfinish almost came to a complete stop coming into the last corner.

These are just suggestions and do not detract from an amazing event. -loved the shirt, -loved the medal -loved the beer at the finish line! I didn't see anywhere to stand in front of to get a finishers photo -like a billboard with a picture of the Itchen bridge on with a photographer snapping you with your medal...there may have been something but didn't see it! Also last thing, I always buy my photos from this event as you get so many photos for such a good price!

I enjoyed participating in the race and it was well organised. The crowd was very supportive and created a good atmosphere along the whole course although it was noticeable that there were less organised musical groups than last year which was a shame. Having the marathon runners overtake the half marathon on their second lap must have been annoying for the marathon and was demoralising for the half runners. Also the changes in the course lead to a final 2 miles that was largely uphill (including the itched bridge crossing) and this made the end of the race quite gruelling.

Very well organised with plenty of support for the runners.
Could do with more toilets on the course and bananas at the nutrition points.
There was plenty of water stations! Much better than last year.
Maybe make the marathon course a single lap rather than a double please? (and a bit shorter? ;-) )
Thanks for a great day

Being able to switch from the half to 10k with only a few weeks to go was much appreciated - thank you. However, the queue to collect details on the day was very long, with some half marathon competitors still waiting when their race had started. Also, no water until after the Itchen Bridge at almost 8k was not ideal, particularly in the sunny conditions! The finish was also confusing, with some 10k runners not sure which direction to go! However, the atmosphere was electric and some of your marshals were fantastic - particularly the enthusiastic lady in Queen's Park. Keen to be involved again next year.

I think I would possibly suggest more water stations though and a few more toilets. Otherwise it was yet another great experience. As this was my third time. I have already signed up for the half again next year

The experience was, overall , a good one b, but I had a few grumbles ! I warmed up in the official warm up area and nearly missed the start ! We were walking to the start as directed when the race started ! We had to hop over barriers to pass the chip mat . Allowing headphones seems to have been an error as the lead cyclists were becoming very frustrated as people couldn't hear their directions . I was surprised they were permitted . The marathon runners were sent the wrong way but you are probably aware of that ! However , all in all I would do it again and the tshirt was fab ! ????
