Overall I would say my experience was pretty good. Uploading all the needed documents was easy and I was notified when I needed to take action. The loan terms and interest rate were one of the most reasonable available as well.

I was unhappy with how long it took to get this loan together. I filled everything out and then waited and waited. Then I had to fill more things out. By the time I received my loan the interest rate was a whole percent higher than what was originally proposed. Almost like a scam to get more money from us. It took 2 months for the school to get the money and we almost had to pay a late fee but we were able to show the school that the loan was started and it was taking forever to get them the money. I will not be using this company for my next loan.

Overall easy process. I like the multiple options for loans and having all the scenario available at a glance is helpful to make informed decision. I was not aware we needed two accounts initially. So to get started it was a little difficult, but we could have missed that with all the literature involved. Hopefully this gets easier. We are still waiting for first payment options to set up the loan an direct payments to get the extra 1/2 % off.

EDvestinU has an easy to navigate user interface that makes applying for loans a breeze and refinancing simple. I did not have many questions when filling out the applications, but when I did, I was able to get a hold of EDvestinU to get my questions answered. However, the wait time was not desirable as I tried to get in contact with someone.

I would have loved to give a review of 5 stars, unfortunately I can only give those stars to one of the main supervisors with whom I spoke the two times there were issues which he fixed with care and extreme professionalism. However, when it came to EDvestinU communicating with us regarding where we were in the process - unlike with College Ave that communicated with the borrower AND the co-signer regarding the entire process including what was needed to finalize the loan and disbursement, when the loan was finalized and disbursed, and the amounts that were disbursed as well as the amounts that were changed/lowered by the college - EDvestinU managed to fall short in all of it. As a result, our daughter (the borrower) had to wait an extra month to have her money disbursed and therefore had to request a one time advance from her college to pay for food and rent! If EDvestinU had notified both the borrow and the co-signer that there was a final signature required by the borrower, as College Ave had, this wouldn't have happened. Additionally, as the co-signer, I have yet to receive an emailed statement of the amount that was disbursed and by what amount her loan amount was lowered due to a college credit of more than $4,000. As you can imagine, this lack of communication resulted in an extremely delayed disbursement, which was much more than an inconvenience, and has left me needing to find time in my schedule to contact EdvestinU to confirm the college loan credit due to additional financial aid/current loan amount. This in itself is an additional inconvenience as the hold time to get help and answers is usually quite long and wouldn't be required if EDvestinU would simply communicate these updates and information via email of both the borrower and the co-signer.
