I would like to express my utmost frustration on how an employee (a certain Martin as he was introduced to me, claiming to be a manager) mishandled my loan's release. Here is the story somewhat in rambling detail:
I have a poor credit score and Martin said this has to be boosted before my loan can be released to my bank. According to him, boosting requires payment with money coming from Loan Connect in such a way that the credit bureaus would notice and give me a credit boost. This was not explained very well but I agreed hesitantly because I needed the loan money very badly. My wife suspected something was fishy. And the more it became suspicious when Martin told me how the payment will take place. That I have to go to a gas station or a Rexall store to buy a card that he will select and an amount that he will designate. I must go into the store only through his go signal and I must not talk to anybody. Cloak and dagger type of operation. I followed along with this “operation” all along suspecting something was not right. I went into the Rexall store at his signal to find the area where the gift cards are and told me to select a Walmart card and load it with $360. I pulled out my debit card confident that Martin had already sent me the corresponding amount. Unknowingly, Money was NOT transferred to my card but the payment went through because luckily the $400 that my wife saved there was unspent. Finally, I was told to take a picture of the card and receipt before driving on. Like a foolish person I complied with all of Martin's instructions. I was told the loan will be released in 10 minutes. 10 minutes passed, then 1 hour, 2,3, 4 hours passed and no loan money transferred to my bank account. Martin did not bother informing me of the situation, he only called me after my several follow up emails and calls. Wife later decided to check the debit card to buy something and found out that her $400 had disappeared due mainly to the $360 Rexall payment. Martin explained that there was no release because my credit score still needs to be boosted some more and I needed to buy $300 more Walmart Card. He promised that the total of $660 Walmart cards will be repaid along with the loan money. This time I am already pissed off and ready to punch a person.Meanwhile my wife was also raising hell against me telling me how stupid I was for falling for a clear scam. The night was long and an intense fight broke between us. The following day Martin reminded me to raise the $300 so he can release the loan money to me. I said I don't have any money nor source to get this from. He casually told me to find it. I told him this is not possible and I repeatedly told him that I do not want to deal with him anymore and he must give the responsibility to another employee. He did not comply. He answered that he is personally handling it and that he is the boss. Let me add this to the horrible story- Martin said repeatedly that I should not be telling anybody about this loan. I do not understand this secrecy.It is abnormal to me.
I hated him for the way he handled my loan and for what happened to me. He is arrogant and a liar. I distrust him at all. If this is the way they do things at Loan Connect, Customers, think twice about dealing with them.
I sincerely hope that senior management would learn about this in full as written and that appropriate action is taken.
