Not as flexible as I thought but will likely loosen with more use. I use these collars with minimum tension and this must be installed snug for the bungi function. Great quality but consider if bungi breaks in the bush, collar is lost (my dog is a far ranging hound). I put a paracord safety across the bungee attachment. Best thing is the speed of putting collar on/off but again, active dogs may release it in the bush, not likely but she has surprised me in the past. Not a required accessory but more of a luxury and I may go back to the oem version for 100% reliability. This company is the best and I recommend them 110%!

I really LOVE that the Educator receivers have a nice bright LED light on them, huge plus because I walk my dogs early morning while it's still dark. Either way, I've had my collars for over a year and they started to not keep their charge for very long, had an LED light out on one of them, and the vibrate feature was noisy as well. So, I decided to purchase batteries for the remotes and new receivers. When I received my order I thought it had been fulfilled incorrectly because the receiver didn't match my current receiver and would not sync with my remote. I contacted customer service where Ashley informed me that my model had been discontinued. My heart sank when I first heard that my model was discontinued and no longer being sold, including parts, and that the new receivers didn't sync with my model remote – was not a cheap purchase and barely over a year old. Then Ashley did the most AMAZING thing and informed me that I was still under warranty. I now have the updated model and I was refunded the cost of my replacement receiver and sent the new model remote. I couldn’t be more thrilled! Not very often you come across a company that stands behind their product and warranty. Especially, without asking them to. Educator collars are a high quality product with the bonus of lights and an ergonomic easy to use remote. I’ve used other brands with other people’s dogs and I was never really impressed with the fit, button layout, or design. I recommend Educator Collars 100% with no hesitation and I am a customer for life!

Bradley was provided outstanding customer support, helping me select the right product for my application, and answering all product and functionality " how-to" questions. I started my training with the k9-800 tactical two weeks ago, and my high energy stubborn chocolate lab is responding really really well to Pavlovian training method with the vibration and tone.

Arrived and was rugged as expected. Spring more than adequate to retain in place for strenuous work dropping the controller and picking back up. Better than lanyard to allow placing at convenient attachment points.

The quality of this e-collar is excellent, feels much more sturdy than cheaper options. The buttons are placed well so you can easily push them without looking. The videos on the website make setting it up a breeze, and the training videos by Jeff Gellman are very helpful. Since I camp with my dogs, I love that it has a light option that turns on remotely. My biggest issue, and the reason for 4 stars vs. 5, is that the contact points that come with the collar are really not helpful with a thick/ double coated breed. I have to adjust the collar uncomfortably tight, which makes finding the working level nearly impossible because he's then too focused on the collar for me to accurately tell where his level is. We've been able to make it work so far, but it's not feasible for me to keep adjusting it when we're trying to work. Now, I realize I can purchase new contact points. And that's what I'm doing. What's kind of irritating is the added cost for me because I have a thick coated dog. It would have been nice to be able to use this item properly right out of the box. With shipping, the extra contact points will cost over $15. It seems like it would be a better to have an option for people purchasing this device to choose whether it's for a short, thick, or long coated dog, and then send along the appropriate range of contact points, instead of expecting some of us to pay extra.

I ordered batteries for my remote trainer and before the order was shipped a customer service representative contacted me to ensure the batteries I ordered were for the correct device. They actually were, and my product was shipped right away. I will recommend buying from this company.

I went through two different cheap e-collar systems before a trainer friend recommended this one to me. At first I didn't want to spend the money, but I saved up and I am so happy I went with this one. The waterproof feature is worth its weight in gold! My dog and I swim all the time and both the receiver and transmitter have been completely submerged on many occasions and still work perfectly, the transmitter floats, albeit just below the surface. My only negative feeling I have about it is the round shape of the remote, and the lack of belt clip. I would prefer the traditional shaped remote, I found those easier to fit in my hand, and those usually have a belt clip built into them. With this one you have to buy a belt clip separately. The lanyard is ok but I much prefer to have it clipped to my shirt collar or pants when I am hiking rather than swinging loosely from my neck. I thought about going with another brand for that reason but I couldn't stand spending $100 more on a Dogtra system with the same features just for the remote shape. When it is time to purchase another system I may go with one of Educator's 900 series. Other than that, training with this has gone great, the receiver has an almost instant response time to the remote, and all of the features come in very handy. I use the vibration before stim, and I almost never have to give stim any more because of that. I also use the light on the receiver all the time, it's great for walks at night even when my dog is wearing her leash, so cars can see us. All in all I highly recommend this collar system. Despite my qualms about the remote shape, I admit it is convenient having the buttons sitting right at your finger tips. The way they are set up, the vibration is under your thumb, the stim is under your index finger, and the boost is under your middle finger, so you always know you are hitting the right button as long as you use the corresponding finger. If you are on the fence about this system, I encourage you to take the plunge. I debated myself on it for weeks and my only regret is I wish I had tried it first rather than third. Educator customer service is fantastic. Last bit of advice is definitely seek out a good trainer to use any e-collar. I had only ever done positive training so I got help and that made it so much better. If you use them wrong you can really screw up your dog so if you have no experience with them then definitely have someone teach you the right way to use it and do your research.

It’s intimidating to consider using an e-collar on your dog. You have to overcome any trepidation and just learn how to use it correctly. Once we did that, we decided that we do indeed like the Educator ET-300. It suits our dogs requirements perfectly. We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the tone option because our dog responds to it so well. She hears it and does what she’s supposed to do because she quickly learned that it will be followed by a weird ‘szzt’ if she doesn’t. The few times we had to use it, she tilted her head slightly and then came right over to us. No yelping, no discomfort, just a "hey now, that’s weird and I’m not sure I like it.” The manual has some spelling errors that drove me crazy as an editor and made me think that the product quality would also be imperfect but that’s not true. The battery life is kick-ass and everything is well-constructed. I do wish the controller wasn’t round or bright yellow. I would like something that fits in my hand better and not be so glaringly obvious considering people’s attitudes about e-collars. I might look into the belt clip because I’m a short woman and hanging it around my neck is just irritating because it bangs against my belly as I walk. I did add a little clip to it to hang it from my belt loop and that works better for me. And finally, I would like to see each button have a very specific feel so you know you’re pressing the correct button (in our case the tone button) without having to look at the controller. One final comment: their customer service is top notch. That’s an impressive thing these days. Overall, I highly recommend this e-collar and this company. - Susan
