The nest boxes were simple to assemble and instructions were simple to follow. We are waiting for our chickens to arrive,so can't review their performance yet. I am happy you included extra nuts and bolts , this made assembly easier.

I had been looking at this nesting box for almost two years we had built our own in the mean time which worked great for the most part but way to difficult to keep clean so it seemed very counter productive so we went back to our prior common nesting boxes egg production went down finally realized we had egg eaters from our newest chicks that we raised and you know that turns into more egg eaters this box has been wonderful it basically keeps itself clean due to the design and it only takes a few minutes (less than 5) total each week or so to clean the nesting pad provided with it so I would personally give it a 6 star rating myself but my son that helps with the chickens would probably give it 8 due to not having to get pecked by a few of our chickens while collecting I truly do regret not purchasing when I put in cart the first of multiple times over the last couple years will be getting another for our second chicken house we are talking about getting

Chickens are taking some time to figure it out but about half of them are using it. I think I will purchase the automatic closer now.

our egg production went from 70/day to FIVE. We were baffled as to what was happening until we caught our naughty girls eating them as quick as they could. My girls are ignoring the boxes (I bought two, one for each coop that has 5 hens each). I’ll keep trying, but so far they are ignoring the boxes and one continues to eat eggs! Is there a way to entice them to use the boxes?

The best nesting box in the market. We went from dirty, broken eggs to clean and whole eggs. All it took was to install the Best Nest Box in our coop.

Installation and timer set up went well*; timer and popper performing as they should. *mechanic husband who never reads Instructions watched the video and no compents or tools were broken, thrown, or punted in the 20-30 minutes it took to install.

First, the quality of materials was a very pleasant surprise. We’ve been let down in the past in ordering products that appeared great online and were cheaply made upon arrival. Not the case here! The components are substantial and feel as though they are made to last! Second, the instructions for assembly were fantastic! Any question we might have had was answered either with hints/tips or in photos. The assembly took two people maybe 30 mins, taking our time to get it right. We’re super impressed!! 10/10 recommend!

The best investment ever. I highly suggest anyone with a flock or sell their eggs look into it. Not having to wash your eggs because they stay pristine is a lifesaver!

Great boxes! Easy to assemble and very sturdy! Have about 650 hens and these work great! Most of the eggs go to a hatchery so can’t wash with water so the clean eggs are really nice! I have some that are still laying on the ground but I’ve been to busy to teach them right but the vast majority lay there by choice without any training. Highly recommend.

Overall I think this thing is great. It has replaced my other feeders I had in the yard and looks good to boot. The only complaint I have is the birds tear through the feed quick. You will notice a nice sized area of feed on the ground under this thing. I took a star off for that aspect. I really thought this rig would do a better job at catching food etc. Right now I have 45 birds utilizing it and I am going through a 50lb bag of feed in about a week. Maybe 6 days. I do throw out some cracked corn in the mornings. Construction is robust the plastic they are using is dense and very solid. You can telll it will last a while. Assembly when it arrived was quick had it up and filled in 15mins. Easy to move.

i bought two of the best nest boxes, and I truly love them.I had made one of my own from wood and they were bulky and too heavy.These nest boxes are not heavy, they are attractive to look at and my hens took to them right away. I was having lots of broken and dirty eggs, but not any longer. If I ever get a larger flock of chickens,I will definitely purchase more of these amazing nest boxes. Ron, in Texas

They work great but we are having difficulty getting 2 of 6 hens to use the box. But the function and quality of the box is exceptional.

I’m having some trouble with it. About every 3rd day, I have to recalibrate the door. I will need to contact them to see what the problem is. Other than that, I actually have 2 openers on the chicken house and it’s very convenient.

Very nice. Work excellent. I also have two Hen gear nest boxes and I prefer the best nest box. They just work better and stay cleaner.

When I put it together and had it sitting outside waiting to weld a piece to my coop to attach it to, my chickens automatically started getting in it and laying eggs! It was just natural for them

My chickens have absolutely no interest in using this. I am giving it a 4-star rating because it is a very, very well-made product. I am very new as a chicken owner. I purchased this product out of 1) a desire to have clean eggs, and 2) because a chicken owning friend told me that a chicken who tries to eat the egg will do so again and should be killed. I only have 5 hens. This product is way overkill for my situation. My eggs are almost always very clean and my chickens do not try to eat their eggs. I would definitely be more interest in the benefits of this product if I had larger egg production of 20 eggs or more daily. My hens lay their egg right beside the Best Nest Box instead of in it. Chickens do what they want to do.

nice box.. easy to put together.. should work great.. chickens are a little slow to lay in it but they have to many options right now which we are about to fix... we are happy with the box.. we did order a second mat that was not part of this shipment which i sent an email to you but have not heard back any help with this would be appreciated... thanks

So far so good Love Love Love it! I have seen them before and because I was a novice would not purchase! Didn’t think I needed such an item. Well, 20 years into it and quite a few hens later, I cannot believe I waited so long! I actually have a new batch of chicks and they just began to lay the week before my box arrived. They are fussing over it already! It seems to me they are saying, “Get out its my turn”! Very nice and well made, we reversed it and put it about 18-20 inches above the ground making sure the main roost is much higher and food is in a completely different place therefore they it seems they ise the box for what it was intended for! The box is very nice and easy to assemble… I bought the suggested popper as well, it may be that I’m dense… or that I’ve worn a helmet to work my entire life… but I didn’t understand that the automated popper only lowers the bar, it does not raise it. This isn’t a big deal, but I don’t think I would have sprung for it had I known that. Box is as light as it can be given materials, chickens took to it first day, and eggs are clean as promised… box is really good (cost is steep to match). Popper… meh.

We have a pasture layer operation and these boxes have been the best roll out option we have tried. We move the boxes from their summer mobile coop to their winter high tunnel coop and I really appreciate their quality construction and light weight material. We added "Perch Poppers" this winter and it has been a huge improvement on collecting clean eggs.

I have 15 buff orpington hens and they just started producing eggs in the previous month. They immediately took to the nesting box without any training. 99% of all eggs laid were properly done with the nesting box. This nesting box is definitively the very best. I previously had so many problems with my other flock eating the eggs or placing in difficuly locations. We went away for 3 to 4 days and we camr home to 41 clean and protected eggs waiting for us. These boxes are a little pricey, but we'll worth every penny. They are well constructed, will last a long time, and deliver as advertised. I have been recommending the nesting box to my other friends and family. It's a no brainer.

Chickens love it. Easy to assemble. Only four stars because some of the bolts lacked quality control.

The concept of the PerchPopper is great however there are times it does not let the perch down. I set it for 11 hrs and when the perch is closed I count the blinks and they range between 8 and 11. I must go to the coop to verify every morning it is down so i spent $150 to continue the same early routine. 3 star was based on dependability for price paid. ( this review won't make your site but at least you know)

excellent design, quality materials and construction...should last for years

Name says it all! These are hands down the best nest boxes. I bought one to try it out and loved it so much I purchased a second double nest box. I have mine set up to roll the eggs out the back and 95% of the time there is no poop. Every now and then, there will be some poop on the eggs but this is definitely not the norm. Great durable product the serves our little homestead well.

It's a great product, but my chickens rarely use it. For some reason they still prefer to lay their eggs on the ground.

I purchased two of the large Best Nest Boxes and Original Perch Poppers and am very happy I chose them. The quality and fit of all the parts is excellent. The design appears to work very well and I look forward to years of collecting eggs. The two improvements I would suggest are better documentation. For a product of this quality and price I expected more than black and white printer copies of the installation and instruction manual. The only other improvement I’ll make is to add a lock on the outside egg rollout tray to predator proof it. Again I would have expected it to have a secure tray door. Having said that I knew beforehand that I would have to add it after I purchased the box. Even with these two issues, would I buy them again? Yes. While they are very expensive, I feel they are worth it and I recommend them to anyone that doesn’t want to build their own and have possible the Best Nest Box commercially available.

This feeder is THE answer to problems of wasted feed and the need for constant refilling. A really clean effective solution. I love it.

Works Great!

The BEST! We don't have to worry about predators because of the locking system. Just set how you want it to open and close. The only time we ever need to adjust it is when days and nights get shorter or longer. Depends how you program it. We have two of them and love them. Thankyou! Cindy

Still haven’t been able to get my girls to lay in it. We will see. Best Nest Box reached out to me and gave me a couple other suggestions on training them on laying habits and am looking forward to trying them. Rare to find a company these days that really stands behind and supports their product. Five stars for that everyday of the week!

We have only been using it a few weeks but it has been great so far. We have a pasture laying hen operation so moving them around every week may be difficult since the stand isn't attached. Also they don't necessarily leak but since we have a tank heater in them in the winter (regular neg 10-30 degrees is normal), the condensation that builds up inside the lid ends up dripping down the outside making a bit of mud, but still better than other winter waterer options we have tried.

I totally configured to a hang on the outside of a solid wall in my coop . Little drilling and metal break . Totally love the idea made very well . Working great . Reversed sides and roof .

Still not able to program box so opening and closing manually for now. Once I figure it out, I expect it will work brilliantly!

I have kept hens for 14 years and used various coops. This is the first time I have used a roll away nest box. We installed it into our chickshaw. The hens adapted quickly. So happy with this purchase. No more dirty eggs, no more eggs eaten. Highly recommend.

This is the second Best Nest Box that we've installed. We have 30 chickens and it seemed the 36" box was not enough for them as they kept laying in the yard. The installation of the second, smaller box did the trick. Now we very rarely eggs outside of the boxes. Great products!

This works great. We are weekend farmers and can't collect the eggs daily. Our chickens were eating the eggs. This box fixed that so easily. Great product. My husband said they were easy to install.

So far so good. Written instructions on door calibration could be way more thorough, but easy enough to figure out, I suppose, we'll see. Most low-star reviews were issues after months of install.

Well the pads are great, but the chickens disagree. After 6 weeks of a little added straw, and ceramic eggs, if they don’t see straw, they lay on the floor instead. We have a new flock just coming in to lay, perhaps we can train them! Any suggestions on how to make the floor uncomfortable? We have straw but tried chicken wire bundles. They just move them. I guess we could screw them down. What’s your advice?

The girls loved it Had very very low spill out but nothing compared to the other feeders that they would knock over or get the food dirty. Very well built and sturdy. Thank you guys everything from the egg laying box to the waterer and feeder have helped me keep a much cleaner coop all around

Very well built and excellent design. Only complaint is not able to see when water is low......... but just gotta open the lid. I'm thinking about installing some sort of tube on the outside like on a motorcycle tank to see the water level but that's just me. Great product !!!! Thank You

Works excellent! Just what we needed

The Best Nest Box is working well. The setup was easy - it took me and my son 30 minutes. We hung the box on the side of the contained outside chicken run. They ignored it until we coaxed their interest by loading box with an inch of straw and some tasty bread. At first only 10% of the chickens used it. After 3 weeks, we are up to 80%. Many of our chickens are older (3+ years old) and thus may be slow to adapt. No complaints, only complements.
