This has been awesome! Our chickens were eating all the eggs. It took then a few days to start using it. Now we have lots of clean eggs every day! It was definitely a worthwhile purchase!

My girls won’t use it. I’ve got over 40 hens not 1 of them go in it. Tried closing up old nesting boxes. They laid their eggs everywhere except the box.

Love it. Now if i could just the all the birds to use it.

I have not put this nest box in use yet as my chicks won't be laying for several months. However, I can testify that putting this unit together was very easy. You folks did an excellent job of seeing that all bolt holes were perfectly aligned. Also, the bolts themselves were top quality. I am very happy with the quality and compactness of your product. Now all I have to do is get the chickens opinions once they begin to lay eggs. I sure do like the concept behind the nest box though.

Great nest box! The girls love it. The eggs are much cleaner and there have been no more broken eggs. The heavy gauge metal makes this box very sturdy and superior to other boxes. I will definitely be ordering another to replace the lesser quality ones I started with!

Super easy to put together. Working on getting the hens to warm up to it. They do not seem to like change. Some are using it. Reason for getting it is my hens started a bad habit of eating their eggs. I’m now getting some in my fridge.

Hello we recently (jan 2020) purchased our second Best Nest Box. Because we were so pleased with the first Best Nest Box and our flock size has increased we wanted the second one. Still trying to get hens to use —- being patient. So far nearly 2 weeks and no go. Hopefully will have update by February - weather and low daylight may be a factor. Very few hours of real sunshine due to rain and clouds for nearly 4 weeks. :)

Well constructed and easy to clean. Hens love the NestBox too much as I have to kick them out at roost time. Only problem is that hens all want to lay their eggs at the same time. Since all 35 cannot fit into the Nest Box at once, those that get in lay in the box but those who can't lay their eggs on the floor all around it. Bought a second Nest Box to help with this issue. Also recommend getting an extra nesting mat for inside the Nest Box so the dirty one can be washed and hung to dry and you can replace the wet one with a clean. dry one right a way. Even when hung to dry and shook out, the wet one takes a long time to completely dry. If I wait for the one to dry to replace it, I chance forgetting about it all together. I paid more for the easier NestBox to put together and it was worth it.

Love these nests, this purchase equals 8 nests, would not look at the competition, can't come close!

Very good quality fit and design works well. I had an issue with hens eating the eggs ,they where pecking the eggs in the tray from below . I cut and placed sheet metal in the bottom of egg tray seems to work Regards Bill

The girls took a few weeks to get used to the new boxes. Once they got used to it they don't use their old boxes. I am very satisfied. The eggs are very clean. Also, the instructions for set up are very simple. We like the boxes because we can also move the gathering door from the front to the back which is great since our summer set up is different than our winter one.

My chickens went from a wood box to this. They ate laying everywhere now instead of this box. I am now blocking those areas they lay to try and train them to go in the box. Frustrating.

The best best box lives up to its name. I bought a coop that none of my chickens liked laying in. None of them! It wasn’t crazy expensive but it would have been costly to replace and because of where it was situated it would not be easy to demo. Solution, placed a small Best Nest Box in there and voila, the chickens began laying. It’s awesome

Quality construction, easy to access, eggs are clean

Two out of the three pullets who have begun laying are using the nest box. The third pullet prefers to use the bale of wood shavings stored in the henhouse. When all six of the pullets are laying I’ll raise the nest box, mount it on the wall, cut a hole in my henhouse and switch the egg tray to the rear so I’ll be able to collect the eggs from the outside, making it easier for neighbors when I’m away.

Heavy duty, well made and works as described. I use it with the perching post removed. My birds didn’t adjust to it. I use a mat for them to walk on and added a small upper ledge to divert rain water away from opening. Mounted easy enough with the mounting tabs to the side of a garden shed.

So far so good. Very easy assembly. Took me about 30 minutes. Very easy instructions and well written. Nest box was easy to put up in the coop as well. Only 2 screws hold it to the wall. I am not sure how strong that actually is but so far so good. I will probably use a few 9ther metal tapping screws to add strength. After about 2 days all my ladies are laying in there, no problem

Works perfectly! We have had problems with hens pecking eggs in the past, the design of this box has fixed that. All the eggs are nice and clean, my daughter loves gatherings them up each afternoon!

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. I was only getting 11 eggs a day. Now im getting 40 clean beautiful eggs a day. It waa more than I expected. The quality is exceptional. The galvanized metal is thicker than I expected. The chickens took to it immediately and I expect to use it for many years.

Some pieces inside box came bent, had to work on them. All good besides that.

I love the Best Nest Box system, started with the medium for 10 hens in our “chicken condo” and then went on to purchase 4 of the large boxes for the “chicken house”. (200 birds) The entire process from order to delivery was very quick and professionally done. Work great! No dirty or cracked eggs ever now. Two of the three ordered were bent when they arrived. The packaging wasn’t damaged so they were packed this way. We had to fix them before assembly but they’re working great. Just ordered two more hopefully they arrive in good condition.

So far so good - I know there'll be a learning curve especially since I started mine in the winter. But I am already seeing improvements in usage and cant wait to make full use of it come warmer weather. Havent had these long, but looks like a great purchase Thank you

Thank you for developing the Best Nest Box. My chickens started using it the first day I installed it. Eggs are clean and they don’t get to eat their own eggs anymore. On occasion I have found a random egg on the floor, but I had that happen before too. I look forward to this box lasting for many many years.

I love this nesting box. Best money spent on my chickens. No more dirty eggs & most of all no more cracked or eaten eggs. I had to retro fit the box & remove the egg collection door so that I could still collect eggs from outside the coop & it works great. I recommend this nesting box to all my fellow chicken keepers!

This was my 3rd one as I upped my flock. Have about 150 chickens now. Just love them. no more broken egg messes and eggs are so clean. they are now a must have for me after struggling with hens eating or breaking eggs or tracking in mud on them for years. I can assemble them myself with no problem.

Bought 6 of the "40" minute assembly units. I would say the first one will take you 40 minutes, but after that, much less. Really well laid out and machined. Solid box, ingeniously packed.

I was slightly intimidated by the 40 minute assembly estimation, but I don't think it actually took that long, and instructions were easy to follow. Birds took to the nest readily, though I had to take off one curtain panel before they started using it. Eggs from the nest box are so lovely and clean next to the few still being laid on the ground!

I was surprised at how quickly they arrived (Canada) and the hens adapted quickly to the new material. Our eggs are so much cleaner now!

I love that the eggs are clean and roll away when they walk out. I would add the ability to easily partition the box, and I added cardboard under the egg storage area to keep that area cleaner as well. I plan to buy more as needed, GREAT PRODUCT!

Was excited to receive my Nest Box and took me no time to assemble. Once installed the hens started using right away. Clean Eggs!!! Priceless.. Thankyou soo much for this product; made our lives much easier..I highly recommend this box.

It's not quite as natural, and the wire mesh allows too much draft. So, probably not the "best" nest box.

We love the general idea of how nest boxes should work, however, we still have hens that would prefer to nest on the ground. They want to "tuck" an egg underneath them while they are laying. I would recommend that the nest boxes be enlarged. We have New Hampshire Reds, Golden Comets and Americana chickens and the New Hampshire Reds have a tight squeeze to get in.

It does what it says on the tin. It took few days for the hens to get used to it but they eventually got the hang of it. I am satisfied by this product. There was a dent on one of the side sheets though and I have read a few reviews from other customers who had the same concerns.

Super awesome nest box!!! I already had the smaller one and when we built our new chicken house I got a larger one to go with the smaller one. In the past month since our chicken coop was built, I've only had one egg laid on the floor in the pine chips - every other egg was laid in the best nest boxes. No more gross poopy eggs and no egg eating - it's awesome! I don't have to worry about getting out to the nest box in time before they start eating eggs or to clean out the bedding. These are pricey but well put together and well worth it. My first smaller best nest box is 3 years old...was in an outdoor pen (now is in a coop) and has no signs of rust or wear or tear. LOVE THEM

You guys did a great job with the instructions, complete set of materials and ease in putting the Nest Box together. The chickens already love it!

We've had this nesting box for a bit now so I feel confident doing a review. We built a new large coop and installed this nest box. The chickens free range all over our acreage normally, so we kept them inside the coop for a few weeks so they would know that is their new home. This made it easy for them to also understand this was their new nest box. They've been out and freeranging again and always go back to the coop to lay their eggs. The eggs are easy to collect and not one has broken. We chose to put the best nest box together ourselves and went together relatively quickly. It also hangs by just 2 screws and is very sturdy. I would recommend this nest box to others.

This was a bit of leap for me to purchase. It was more than I was hoping to spend, plus the shipping. Once it arrived it was HEAVY! but it went together easily. My one worry is the mounting tabs bent out from the frame of the metal, seems like a weak spot that will break eventually. I would say about 2/3rds of my girls immediately took to the new box. The other diehards continue to lay in their weird locations. I think some of the hens didn’t really appreciate the communal box, running off to find secluded spots I later discover. Several times, I’ve watched a hen yell at other hens trying to enter the box, even though there is plenty of room. The eggs from this nest box come out clean and unbroken every time. Even though it isn’t capturing 100% of the eggs, the ones I get are perfect. I may consider purchasing another as my flock grows. I would mostly like to see the mounting bracket reinforced at this price.

My birds were not laying when I got the nest box. They started up again a couple days ago. I really like clean eggs. I had birds sleeping in the old nest boxes. They would crap in them. I took away all but one and they still soiled them. So far this one is clean. I don’t regret the purchase at all. Would buy again if I needed one.

Best ever!! Nice clean, unbroken eggs. Love rear roll out function so I don't have to disturb hens when gathering.

Very pleased with the packaging and quick shipping. Going to use mine as a rear roll out box and was very simple to make that conversion. 30 min after opening the package it was assembled and taking 15 min to cut hole for rear rollout and it was ready to go. My coop is now complete all I need is the chickens!

box is well made and well thought out. be careful with shipping though. it is packaged in just heavy cardboard and my shipper (ups) must've dropped it or so. I have a dent the entire width of the unit. doesn't affect how it works, it's strength and integrity, or how it mounts. still perfectly functional. just a slight cosmetic type dent.

This product works exactly as advertised. You MUST remove other nesting boxes though. Once they get started laying in the box it becomes a joy to gather eggs. We have 50 hens and I usually find 1 or 2 eggs on the floor and the rest are nice and clean, in the laying box. Great product.

Great nest box.

Works as advertised. The only hiccup we experienced was that our older flock had a hard time getting used laying in it at first. Golf balls, eggs, removing the red flaps and keeping the red flaps - we tried it all. I ended up putting some straw into the new nest box and they began to lay in it - over the next week or so I slowly removed the straw and now it's good to go. I'm pretty certain the new generation of layers will be easier since we won't be fighting their old habits. OVERALL - Easy assembly and I would definitely recommend - I can't wait to NOT have to clean eggs in peak laying season. Major quality of life improvement.

Went together easy with directions and a little common sense. Works great lifting bar to keep them from making a mess at down times.
